M64 is screw in barrel, you could have the threads turned off and use another type of receiver. ORF made M64 receivers, http://rapidfire.targetweb.net/cgi-...8531.15547*_a3AU2&p_id=02168&xm=on&ppinc=big# not sure if it's designed for threads or turned off barrel. Call them, don't order online. They're having a sale on most stuff.

If it's set up for turned off barrel threads you'd have to get the barrel threads turned off, press in barrel using allthread/hydraulic press, headspace and pin, make/buy a trigger guard jig and set trigger guard rivets(easiest with hydraulic press), and refinish.

You pretty much bought one of the hardest types of AKs to build because of barrel timing, this isn't an AR. Buying plates and welding it up would be easiest. Theres also reweld repair sections from Wise Lite, if they still sell those.

Or send your kit and compliance parts to this guy(turbothis): http://mygunsnorthwest.com/contact.html and have it rewelded and built, email him for price. I had him do a milled M70 and it's very nice. This would be the cheapest and easiest route for having someone else do it.
