I also tend to buy the cheapest available from established brands like Winchester, Remington, UMC, or Federal. If it's one of the steel-cased import brands like Wolf or Tula I pass. Usually it's bought from Wallyworld.

I have participated in Ammo Group buys and they have turned out well too. I'm not opposed to remanufactured ammo to get good prices.

And for rimfire I usually get Federal Bulk 550 round count from wallyworld for $15.99 and CCI Mini Mags for $6.something.

Like everyone else, I'm looking to save some scratch as much as possible.
I usually get Federal ball ammo from Walmart in all calibers

+1 to this. I voted I don't buy the cheap stuff but I buy a step up. As I won't get the steel core stuff (Tul, Wolf, Monarch Steel), but any cheap ball ammo is up for the picking. Federal or Monarch brass case, or Blazer (brass preferred but aluminum is fine) it usually is.

I will admit I found Fiocchi cheap a while back, so I stocked up on some. I prefer it over pretty much anything else FMJ.

For self defense, I like Speer but Sports World has 50 packs of Federal HST in a white box for a pretty good price. I have been using it just because I can afford to vet it for reliability for a reasonable price. Has worked well to date.

I reload as much as I can, but when possible I buy some extra factory ammo to have on hand. My ak's only get steel case, AR's get bulk brass case, my HK clones eat anything I have.

I do have a custom load for my 9mm AR, but I like to shoot s cheap is good.

I can get
9mm brass in the $9/box
Steel $7/box
40. Brass 12/box
Steel 10/box
223 brass $300/ 1k
Steel $250/1k
7,62x39 steel 250/1k
308 surplus brass 80/200
Steel 350/1k

Just so you know some of what we are looking at.

What ever Name brand is on sale from time to time but, 95% of what I shoot is Reloaded ammo. It's better than enything you can buy at the store.

Me personally I because I am don't have a lot of money go to the devil er Wally world and Bass Pro. Wally has the Winchester white box 100 rnd FMJ 9mm for just under $20 and I go to BPS for Winchester SXZ 9mm JHP 50 rnd for about $20. If that helps any. This of course for the OKC area.

Which Wally World still has the WWB 9mm for under $20???????? In Lawton that box costs 23.95 at one and 22.95 at another. If I could find it for under 20 I might grab some.
