I know Gavestonian and billionaire Tilman Fertitta has tried to get casinos into Texas. He sold all the Joe's Crab Shacks to purchase all the Golden Nugget Casinos. The rumor use to be that the top two floors on the Moody hotel next to Moody Gardens were empty...and they were for years...to put in slots and table games when Texas allowed gambling.

Now that Mr. Fertitta has the Golden Nugget Casinos, a gazillion restaurants (Landry's Corporation) most of Kemah, Texas and the new pleasure pier (rides and games where the Flagship hotel use to be in Galveston) and a thousand other investments...I'm sure he's not concerned anymore with Texas casinos.

The only casino I knew of in Texas was down in Rockport...cruise ship. The Texas Sun...it went out in the Gulf . You ate dinner and waited for them to be in international water to start gambling. The boat did rock in rough to semi rough water...trust me, my wife was sick as a dog on one of the cruises!!!

Isn't that why Winstar is situated right on the OK|TX border?
The Chickasaws aren't idiots; they know where the money is. I have friends from the DFW area who occasionally travel up to the Winstar, and they're certainly not alone. It's weird to travel that stretch of I-35 after midnight--with the way the road curves and the volume of traffic on the Winstar's frontage road, it looks for all the world like the southbound traffic on I-35 is on the east side. I can tell you that the parking lot is still full at that time of night (at least it used to be--I haven't had any call to travel to Texas in a couple of years).
Of course they have porn on their side. The grass is always greener, eh?
I suppose that's why the dirty movie place is right there on the south bank of the Red River. Back when W. was Prez, I traveled that route frequently, and the dirty movie place's sign, at least on the south side, always had the "D" burned out, so it said "W's Adult Movies" at night. :D

Why? Government-sanctioned race-based discrimination.
You're going to have to explain that one. The tribes are, and always have been, separate, albeit forcibly made dependent, nations; last I checked, that was the only form of dual citizenship recognized by the United States.

As true as all of that may be, the elements of racial preference remain, especially in Oklahoma with the principle of "recognized" tribes and their "enrolled" members, along with the perpetuation of those preferences to individuals who do not in any way live or otherwise identify themselves as members of the tribes other than for the legal benefits involved. I have no comment on whether any of this is justifiable or not as it's irrelevant to the discussion, but I also don't see how there can be any argument that the system exists, that it discriminates to the benefit of one race at the exclusion of all others, or that it's the correct answer to the original question "Why only Indian Casinos in Oklahoma?"

And "white people crack me up" or "honkeys be all like" ... really?
