Was at a garage sale and snagged a couple WWII US canteens and a cup chingus. One canteen, the cleaner of the two is 1943 dated and the other along with the cup is 1945. The one in rougher shape is missing the cork insert in the cap which I’m assuming is easily replaced. Go nicely with a WWII mess kit a friend gave me a few years back. That and this here 03A3. 😉

Cool find

I had several, through the years. IIRC, when i was in Jr High, you could get new or nearly new canteen w/cup, at Surplus City for $0.25. Another $0.10 for canteen pouch and $0.50 for a web belt. I wore one all summer long.

When the plastic replaced aluminum, the quality of the water went up 10,000%.

You snatched up some excellent examples. Enjoy
