I’m still seeing lots of deer and turkeys. Just none big enough to arrow yet or they are nocturnal. It’s getting frustrating.
Spent the last couple days in the blind. This doe could care less I was there, she just wanted to eat. She watched me finish setting up the blind and all lol. Anyone know what kind of bird this is? Wren of some kind I think. Pretty amazing they can make two sounds at once with different pitches and sequences. He was there off and on all day today. I could play the video back to him and he'd return lol.
That little guy looks like he has had a rough fall so far.
He was bigger bodied that all of the rest, and was at the bottom of pecking order. Wednesday afternoon he stood on sidelines waiting to eat for over an hour.
My daughter killed a 110 pound doe this evening with my custom Remington 870 shooting my reloaded 1 1/4 oz. Pellet Slug at a measured 82 yards.
Congrats to the young lady. Those slugs will put a hurtin' on them.

She shot a 3-shot group with those slugs every day for 2 weeks, and when her time came to finally shoot a deer during the last gun season, she shot her doe high in the front shoulder and it dropped like a rock, and never took a step! Made me mighty proud and she was super excited to say the least!

I have a SXS smooth bore shotgun I started to develop a forester slug for but never went forward with the project. I like the sabot concept.Heck yeah!!! Pass on my congrats to the young lady!
