So, my dad bought a German made 1960's left handed Weatherby 270WBY mag. 1. This is his first left handed rifle in his 50+years of shooting (he has been shooting a right hand rifle left handed). 2. He has a 300 WBY and I obviously shoot a 257 WBY. Here is my position. 3. Dad says "Just get a 3x9 scope for it, I don't give a damn". Also, "Maybe get one of those Viper Scopes, I hear they are good". "I don't give a damn what it costs, order me a scope for this rifle". 4. He is in the position, that he can spend "whatever he damn well pleases" on whatever scope I want to get him. Her is my dilemma though. If he ever shoots a deer over 300 yards i will $hi% a brick, and if he ever shoots at a target over 200 yards i will $hi% a pebble. Any suggestions? Please help!!!

Kahles or Swarovski make beautiful hunting scopes, Zeiss, Leica, Minox also have nice options as well

Kahles are my favorites. Any of these mentioned are good options. Can't go wrong with any of them.

He mentioned Vortex, that's what I'd get him.

Vortex is a great company however I have not been happy with their products. However, I was looking to pickup the Gen II Razor, but decided to move a different direction based off previous experiences. I have friends that broke them, but I have not seen one break myself.

Mount a Schmitt-Bender on it for him.
Shouldn't run much more than $4000.00

If he wants a glossy scope to match the glossy gun, go Leupold VX-II or VX-III. If he doesn't care about the glossy look, the sky is the limit. I have a MkV Weatherby in 270 Wby and love the glossy look. That said, I bought a 3-9x40 Bushnell Elite 3200 when they still made a glossy version a few years ago. Decent scope but I should've gone with the Leupold.
