I have taken them after many surgeries, they do what I expect them to do. They knock me out, never understood how people enjoyed them at all. I use the same pattern every time, take as directed for the first few days, then ween off during the day and use at night for sleep. Continue cutting back until I am off of them.

Last surgery the Doc actually told me using them at night for sleep is how people get addicted. Had no idea, but IMO the recreational use is not for sleeping.

Opiods to me are like eating White Crosses and Black Mollys. No sleep and no shitting.
My wife is same way. Been fun since her oct 30 surgery.

I get zero side effects from them, no buzz. Luckily, I have no idea how people get addicted to them. It’s like Tylenol that actually works for me. It’s weird how differently each person reacts to the same meds.

Interesting ... And all this time I thought I was the resident junkie here.

It is not the opioids that mess with me the worst -- it is the gabapentin. And I have no idea how I would even start to function even the little bit I do now if I didn't have pain management. I would give ANYTHING if things were different but ... Well ... **** in one hand kinda thing, ya know? 🤷

I understand COMPLETELY why people take their own lives. How patients with pain issues are treated now is a disgrace.

That is one med I cannot and refuse to take!

And after watching Pain Killers. It's true that people that suffer with pain are treated, but I blame that on pharma and the Dr.s that push their poison. The US is the main opiod abusers in the world.

When I had shoulder surgery and was given oxycodone,I was not high or feel anything. Until I was getting off of them, then a deep depression. Told that Dr, i was never taking them again, and haven't.
