Okay so Christmas time is coming around and I'm getting my lady either a small carry pistol or a stun gun maybe both. I'm just wondering what everyone would recommend I look for and each persons personal opinion on a taser over a firearm for the ladys. I'm not in the place to be dropping a chunk of change right now and about $400 is the most I'll be able to do at the moment. She really likes the Walther PK-380 but I would prefer to get something a little cheaper and at least a 9mm. Also would prefer it to be a small firearm, something that can be pulled out and ready to go in an instant. I was considering of just getting another Star Super and letting her have that but she's a small person and we just don't feel that it would be the right choice if any bad situation came up.

Thanks guys and I hope everyone is have an amazing Turkey Day! :thumbup3:

She's shot my XD9, star super, pk380, and a couple rifles. So far the super and walther have been her favorites. She likes how smooth and easy the trigger pull is on both.

Please don't fall into that idea that you should get her a small gun - the smaller guns have more recoil, therefor making them MORE difficult for a woman to handle. That's what happened to me on my first gun, my father got me a smaller gun and the recoil was unpleasant enough that it nearly turned me off shooting entirely. Then I got my hands on a glock... and was much happier with handguns after that.

For myself, started out carrying a g19, but ended up going with a S&W 38 for my everyday carry. It's lighter, but, being a revolver, it is ready to go as soon as you pull it out (I don't trust myself enough to carry my glock chambered, but the trigger on the S&W is more stiff and I worry less about accidentally firing it in stress.

Oh... and I didn't answer your poll because the right answer isn't there - whatever weapon SHE is most comfortable and proficient carrying and using is the one she should carry.
