I saw a dead hog in the ditch on Highway 20 in Osage County between Hominy and Ralston when traveling on Thanksgiving Day. I didn't see any evidence of a collision on the roadway but I expect if I had asked a few of the right people that there was a good story on it.

This was taken in Inola with my game camera on November 21 @ 3:00 AM. Later pictures show a bore and this sow with about 7 piglets. From the picture, I am estimating this one to be close to 300 lbs. They have been very nocturnal with pictures ranging from 10 PM to 3:00 AM. I am in the process of attaining a spotlighting permit and will lay waste to them before the year end.

thats a psretty good sow, but it takes a REALLY BIG wild hog to weigh 300.

and as for a year round season, there is no season so you can kill them any time, no limit. just have to follow reg.s on public land. no reg.s on private. and like DPI said, landowners can obtain spotlight permits.

I've seen them on Ft. Sill, during deer season, but none here on our land or hunting lease in mid Grady County. I noticed that the local Atwoods is now stocking (And sold out of) Hog traps.

From a friend that lives NW of Wichita Falls where feral hogs are a big problem for ranchers- The traps and a .22 pistol/ rifle are the way to go. Hogs are mostly nocturnal and inconsistant day feeders. Soak feed corn with water and allow to rot/ ferment. Dump in a hole and place trap over top. Hogs love it.

Change of plans. Instead of the spotlighting, I will be constructing a cage to capture the beasts. Anyone interested in a live hog?

And I am thinking about manufacturing the trap to sell. Would there be a market for these?

They just passed a law this year for private land owners to hunt them with a light. Im fixing to call the warden and get permission.
I would like to have a trap but just the trap door i want to make the side with cattle panels so i could just drive a couple of fence post and put the door on and leave it. I would bve intersted in just the trap door to buy.
