If I shoot it, I clean it. But as previously stated, just a field strip. I don't know that I have the mechanical ability (read: I'm scared to do it) to completely disassemble my weapons. Once I reach the ~1,500 round mark or so, I'll take it to someone to have it professionally cleaned.
It depends on the gun. My handguns are fine not being cleaned for a bit since I only shoot about 100 rounds through them every other month. But my Mosin gets cleaned as soon as I get home to try and get rid of any salts left over from the surplus ammo. It's my cheapest gun but the one I look after the most...
Funny gun cleaning experiment, I and my sons were tried of hearing all the Glock snobs carrying on about the Glocks. So we bought a used Glock 19c and started shooting it. We shoot it all the time every range trip, very accurate, it has never jammed, thousands of rounds but we have never cleaned it. Never, and it just keeps going and going. It has lived up to it's name as far as reliable and accurate. 4-5 years now, cycles fine, eats any ammo we have fed it.
