I think some education needs to go down here.

As OSA Members, we need to educate the public. If I hear anyone say that this is because of the "Concealed" or Open carry law that just passed, I will remind them that carrying a firearm to a professional sporting event is completely illegal, and that permit holders were almost assuredly NOT to blame. This was criminal activity, not the acts of responsible firearm owners.

I had this conversation with a customer this morning. He was agreeing with the goofballs on the Sports Animal this morning. Curtis made the comment "why would you bring a gun to Thunder Alley?". The others guys were making comments also about how dumb it was to have a gun. My customer mentioned the new open carry law & blah, blah, blah. I told my customer that I would carry down there. He looked surprised. Then I explained to him that if I didn't carry, me & my family would be sitting ducks & would not be able to protect ourselves. Told him that's exactly why I have my CCL & I could almost gurantee it was not a responsible CCL holder that did the shooting. Maybe it was, you never know?? He half way acted like he understood. Now I would not carry inside the arena, but if I was just going to Thunder Alley I definately would. Hopefully I shed some light on this for him.

Whoever is responsible should be prosecuted to the maximum sentence that the laws allow! Then when they are paroled, they should be banished from the state.

OKC had such a great reputation and these tards have ruined it!

This shooting happened outside the arena, so the person may not have been carrying inside, or even attended the game.

It would be interesting to know if it was someone local, or maybe someone from L.A..

Either way, if others were allowed to legally carry, they might have been able to stop the shooter before he injured so many, or others may have been shot because of the panic in such a crowd, if those armed chose to fire at the bad guy.

I think the more law abiding citizens that carry the better, but in a large crowd things could sure get messy in a hurry.

Just another reason to watch games on T.V., and avoid large crowds. IMHO.

Now I understand why professional sporting events are banned from carry in the SDA. It could have been hundreds of people shooting up the place otherwise.

My money is on that the shooter didn't even attend the game

ESPN is reporting that

A group of guys fired on a group of girls??!!

That's b.s. I saw two GUYS hit, one bad. I didn't see 8, but there were people running that could have had flesh wounds. I didn't see any women hit, although I have heard there were some. I also heard 8 shots, so hit percentage was 100%!

hope you and your son are ok physically and mentally. Its a screwed up world we live in.

Thanks.... I'm fine. My 11 year old didn't see the guys hit because I made him lay down in the back seat of the truck, which would have really freaked him out. It did scare the **** out of him as he said he doesn't want to go to any more games, although I bet he changes his mind.

.

I was trying to hurry to my vehicle for that very reason. I was unarmed because they are not allowed in the arena. I had mine in my vehicle which is where I was when it happened, so at least I had the ability to defend myself and my son!

There were a ton that didn't. You could see those types as they were in full gangster gear!

Probably not hard to do in a large crowd.

Very true!!!!
