If you plan to open carry I suggest you visit the Open Carry forum and read through the threads.

There are lots of stories about people open carrying and the harassment they go through when being stopped by LEO.

It will make you rethink if it's really worth it.

Nope, hasn't affected my decision and I don't care. Typically when people "stand up" for what they believe is a constitutional right, there is harassment. You are the liberals ideal "gun owner".

I'm looking forward to all the new restrictive laws from lawmakers hell-bent on stopping all of the in-your-face open carriers with too much of their ego tied to the biggest handgun they can strap to their sides (which is not to say that they are overcompensating... but then again...).

I'm fine with open-carry, but I'm honestly scared of the stupidity I hear on numerous message boards about what people are going to do just in the name of scaring the sheeple.

Keep in mind, we all get lumped in with the crowd of those who have their CCW and do something stupid (and it happens more than most on here think) despite the fact that there are thousands more of us who are completely responsible and who are carrying right next to completely unsuspecting anti-gunners in complete peace.

If you're one of those people looking to prove something - just remember how you feel when (insert the name of some liberal/conservative principle you don't believe in) is shoved in your face despite the fact that you really don't care about those people or what they do - you just don't want to have it in your face all the time.

Yep, Desert Eagles in drop leg holsters, with ass clowns wearing camel backs walking around Walmart......great, just great. I can hardly wait. At least the thugs/cops will know who to shoot first.

You should already be aware that the maximum caliber for ccw and eventually open carry is .45 so no DE 50ae. Yes i am aware DE makes other calibers but your context was implying the biggest gun they make. Also open carry is for belt holsters or shoulder holsters only, no drop leg holsters. Thanks for spreading misinformation :)

“Unconcealed handgun” means a loaded or unloaded pistol carried upon the person in a belt or shoulder holster that is wholly or partially visible, or carried upon the person in a scabbard or case designed for carrying firearms that is wholly or partially visible;"

Why would a drop-leg holster not fit this description?

Where is a link to the law? I guess I had been fed misinformation too. I was under the impression that the version of the law that passed said that it had to be carried in a holster for carrying a firearm but nothing about type of holster. So i thought it could be belt, shoulder, drop leg, tac vest or whatever. And no I'm not planning to wear a tactical vest around. I ha e belt holsters and that's all i have (for now).

Has a link to this final version been posted so.eplace where i can go read for myself?

Well crapsies, when i verified before posting I quit reading before the scabbard part, see excerpt below. I am guilty of spreading misinformation and will turn myself in for lashings :(. But the caliber part I am sure on. I take back part of my tirade I was wrong.

But I still dont like people who are against the philosophy of open carry thinking up these commando type people are going to be strutting around and so what if they are, sounding like the media saying its back to the old west days. I don't plan to OC but who knows, but it should be everyones right to do so and I won't look down on s or make fun of omeone for doing it.
