Michael Behenna Released On Parole

May I suggest you ask him to come, don't, DON'T ask about what happened, which I think you would not anyway. He wants I am guessing to remember the old days and get on with his life. I have a younger, much younger friend who I treasure he and his wife dearly. My friend was in the military in an elite unit. I NEVER ask him what he did. He does not want to talk of it. He has not said he does not, but I know from conversations with him and so forth THEY do not want to talk of it. Just sayin', kinda' like the guys coming back from any war, if you will.

There's absolutely no way I'D bring it up, but we were both pretty active in the JROTC while in school, and the majority of his HS friends were in there with us. Most went on to join up in one branch or the other. If I were in his shoes, I don't know if that'd keep my mind off it or not.

EDMOND, Oklahoma - After five years in military prison, a former U.S. Army lieutenant from Oklahoma who was convicted of killing an Iraqi prisoner is returning home to his family.

Thirty-year-old Michael Behenna was granted parole in February after serving five years of his 15-year sentence for unpremeditated murder in a combat zone. He will be released from Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., Friday morning.

Behenna and his family will be escorted from the Oklahoma state line to Edmond by Patriot Guard Riders and proceed to a private family gathering.

The Army Clemency and Parole Board in February denied Behenna's request for clemency but granted him parole. Col. David Patterson has said the decision was based on factors that includes a strong parole plan with family and community support.

Cut his clothes off with a knife, repeatedly tell him you are going to kill him. Shoot him dead. Place an incendiary grenade next to his head to try and burn up the body. I think that he got what he deserved. All in all, I think that this panned out the way that it should for all parties involved.

I know his brother, who is an ADA in Oklahoma County... we both argued our first case to the Court of Criminal Appeals together (on opposite sides of course)! I have met his parents too. They are all good people -- I am happy for them.

sounds like there is an enemy amoug "us". Perhaps you would be more comfortable living somewhere other than the USA? War is War for a reason. His being imprisoned was total BS from a BS Administration. Just saying...
