I'm not up to speed on all the .22 drama here, but I will say that his prices on all other calibers aren't that bad.

I actually bought some ammo from them a while back, before I knew that I wasn't supposed to. Price was cheaper than I could have got it online.

where are these ".22 gouger Mormons" he speaks of? So if you are price gouging 22 you are a Mormon? I didn't know that was part of their belief system?

The OSA gouger Mormons should have already been stocked up; apparently .22lr isn't part of LDS prepping.

Birdhunter 1980's PERSONAL VENDETTA against Goose Island is getting out of control and hurting the reputation of OSA.
Goose Island has the right to sell their ammo at any price they want.
The manufacturer's suggested retail price is just that, "SUGGESTED" not a firm "You can't sell it for more than this price".
Its actually the price they set to pay the Pittman - Robertson act tax off of.
So they keep it low.

My suggestions to Birdhunter
1 Don't drag OSA into your personal vendetta.
2 If you don't like their prices don't buy from them.
3 If you think you are better than them. Go open your own business selling ammo.

I used to be proud of OSA and always mention it to people to get them to join.
Now when I mention it, all I get is a bunch of comments about threads like this one.
So now I no longer promote OSA to people.

What's your relation to Goose Island?

Hiding from all you crazy people!!!
my thought exactly.
I wouldn't buy anything from them just based on his response to Birdhunter.

What's your relation to Goose Island?

Exactly!
Sounds like Mr Ed might just be Goose Island, or affiliated with them.

Ok Mr Ed, seeing how you don't like OSA. Why are you here commenting on this thread? Standing up for on obvious POS who openly talked chit about all of us OSAers.

I believe his issue is in how goose island seems to be obtaining there stock of 22. Buying out the local stores creates (or helps to create) the higher prices and shortages we are seeing. Is what goose island is doing illegal........no. I do feel it is somewhat unethical when there are people who don't hoard...or resale and just want to teach kids about firearms with a caliber that is kid friendly. The only thing we as members of the 2a community can do is vote with our wallets. Don't buy from the resalers. Once they realize there is no profit to be made they will move on to something else. The best thing we can do is not buy inflated ammo.....and let those around us that might not know the situation know what is going on.

This signature is illegal in California

OK Chitty
Doesn't really seem like he was talking chit about OSA. It looks like more he was pointing out the hypocrisy of his message that he sent him in relation to what he's seen on OSA himself. I've seen "members" here try to bend other's over, almost everyday. I got "bent" over for some 22 here as well, but I was willing to pay what he was asking, I'm not bitching.

As far as him not being very nice in the reply, the OP didn't show his original message, and he could just be replying in the same tone as the message he got. Sometimes chitty messages about your business to you, get chitty replies. The OP obviously isn't a paying customer, so it's not customer service, just someone trying to stir a chit pot, which has been achieved. You don't like the price, don't go back to their site.

Grow the 'eff up.

What I find interesting is
A man walks into the xyz gunshop or pawnshop and sells a hard to get gun for $100 that retails for $200
the store 'reseller" then knowing its hard to get, puts it on the shelf for $300 and it immediately sells.
everything's Okie Dokie nobody complains.

A man walks into the same store, sells some 22 shells for a profit (just like on pawnstars)
the dealer marks them up the same percentage he marks up all his merchandise and suddenly he's a bad guy.

Get real folks! the 22 shortage is not going away anytime in the next 5 years PERIOD!
Its a contrived shortage by the manufacturers to raise the prices.

all the more expensive 22 ammo is readily available just not the cheap stuff.

Most ammo in the last 10-15 years has gone up 100-500 percent depending on the model EXCEPT 22lr.
