I find it interesting that those of you that throw the hissy fit of " the state/gov shouldn't be involved in marriage" are noticeably silent...... until gay marriage comes around.

I've been here ten years and read a ton of hypocritical BS but none of the so-called libertarians or conservatives give so much as a peep about this.

I could care less about how gay a lot of you are. What disturbs me is how a few people wearing robes and are mostly from far north east coast get to tell a state like texas or oklahoma what its state laws are. But at least i reckon now for example a conceal permit from okie state can carry in ny. Or a hippie from Colorado should be able to smoke dope in oklahoma. No need states rights , we are all the same.

With respect, it's always been that way. The SCOTUS has a long history of deciding the constitutionality of state laws. This has been true in cases that ruled on segregation, bans on interracial marriage, abortion, redistricting, anti-gun laws and numerous other things.

As was stated earlier, just because a state wants to enact a law, does not mean that said law is constitutional.

It's not a new thing.

Christians picket gay parades and have for years. They bully, push, and try to be as obnoxious as possible. Yet.... how many gays here in Oklahoma show up at your church on sunday? or any church sanctioned event for that matter?

If you do business with the public then be prepared to treat law abiding citizens equally. Don't like it? Overturn the Civil Rights act of 1964. "Religious Liberty" was used to justify racism and it didn't work back then either.

Quite a far reach from Westboro, but whatever you need to tell yourself to justify how you feel is fine with me.
