Anyone out there using a magnetospeed V3? If so what do you think about it? Worth the price of admission?

Yes and yes.

I love not having to go down range to set it up. I like that I can use it on cloudy days (never used the others but i read that clouds interfere with many other chronos). On that note you can use it at indoor ranges. Takes a little more time (maybe 3minutes??) to swap to a different gun but i'm usually just working with one anyways.

My F1 will work with shotgun. I shot many rounds through it. Not into it :)
Bow and arrow, primed 357 shooting crayon or wax.
The problem with an F1 which I have is that the wad is moving at a slower velocity immediately out of the barrel as the petals open and the shot column proceeds ahead of it. The F1 is recording the speed of the wad as its the second thing through at the recommended 12' to set up the Chrony.

I was about 1/2 that distance and the store ammo was about spot on as to what velocity it said it would be.
My buddies reloads shot terrible on paper and some chambered and most did not crimps all over the place.
It showed on the F1.
Every time velocity was down you could tell it in your shoulder.
Shoulder matched chrony.
But yea some other type would be way better than the F1.

I did set my F1 at 100 yards and shot a group of 3 through it. to get my 20 yards and 100 yard velocity and compare it with what bullet BC was advertised to be.
Friend thought I was nuts and knew I would hit the chrony.
I could stick it at 200 and not sweat it.. that is a huge window to shoot through.
I would not want my buddy to try it though. he shakes and fires on the crossing during the shake. Surprises me when he kills things sometimes.

Best chronograph I own. Only complaint I have is the hex head fasteners are too small and it doesn't work for my 1911 because it doesn't have a rail. It's registered every shot I've put through it and will give both SD or ES
