a cousin in law was a trooper here, he told me the HP would give you 7mph over the limit. but that was several years back
A former co-worker said his buddy on the HP (not sure if it was OHP or where he's from, Alabama) only looked at the first digit on his radar readout. If that was the same as the first digit of the speed limit, you were OK.

I drove the Turner and Kilpatrick for the first time in quite a while on Wednesday, 1/23, from Sapulpa to Mustang and back. Those in the thread saying 70 mph is their max would have been left in the ditch by the prevailing traffic. I was doing 85 in the left lane and was passed on the right by a pickup that was able to advance by one vehicle in his rush to get to the construction zone where he then passed on the left in a closed lane. Absolute craziness out there...

I'll take you back even further...

...like 40 years or so. A friend was with OHP and told me that the OHP had a "rule of thumb" of giving 9 and taking 10.

If I go much over 75mph my old trucks start drinking gasoline like some people drink cheap whiskey... Hell, even the speedometers on them top out at 80mph.

Wanna have some fun drive around the country in a Dodge Caravan running 80 to 90 when you think you can get away with it. Nobody wants to be behind a minivan regardless how fast you are running. Not unusual to be running 80+ in the left lane and have someone come up on your rear bumper, pull over the right when you get a chance, the guy passes you then realizes how fast he is going. You see break lights and you pass him on the right hoping the idiot doesn't pull over in front of you.

Faster than Monfort? They used to refer to the left, inside lane as the Monfort Lane.
KW's and Pete's with V-8 CATs turned upwards of 500. Scary fast. Heard of a guy that did an LA turnaround from Sapulpa in less than 28hrs. I called BS, but the young man that told that story was crazy enough to run that fast, he had a very short life. That was when Inman had his yard out on the Beeline South of Tulsa, before they started hauling glass from the Ford plant.,
