You euro mounted a 156" buck? Guess I should start going back to church lol. It looks great!

First off, yes, you should start going back to church. Second, you’re not the first (or fifth) to question my decision to euro mount this buck, and third, it’s not my first (or even second) 150 class buck to euro mount.:anyone:

Thanks Dennis. I’ve been doing my own euros for over 25 years, and this one is probably the best yet.
I've got a guy in town that has done a 4 for me. So cheap, I don't want to mess with it. I tried the throw it in a pond full of crawdads, and that worked great. Not real white, but it was sure clean.
A friend that used to live in OKC did a euro for me that is a duck skull. He owned a taxidermy business. I can't believe how delicate the bones are in that duck skull and how clean he got it.

Looks great RM. I’ve done 5 or so and they look ok. What’s some secrets you can pass along? I’ve got a 130 8 point that’s been in my freezer at work for two years!

I boil the skull in sal soda (sodium bicarbonate) for about an hour. The sal soda loosens the fat and tissue. I promptly take it out and start cleaning the tissue off. I used to let it sit and cool, but I’ve come to realize it’s really easier to get the meat off when it’s warm. It took me about 2.5 hours from heating water to totally clean skull.
I will put a little hydrogen peroxide on it today to whiten it a little more.
