I like how the reporters talk about how horrifying it must have been for people in the mall, then they stick the microphone in front of someone and say "were you terrified?".

Someone that twits should tweet to the twits in the local media. Maybe inform them where they lost opportunities to inform the viewers instead of paring down the information to fit a narrative. I understand they have time frames but this was a perfect teachable moment for them.
Terror and mayhem drives the news. Nothing but sensationalism will do. Was his age even reported? Probably wasn't old enough or couldn't get past the form you have to fill out to buy a gun legally but let's not let those pesky little unreported facts get in the way of disarming law abiding citizens.

Great points.
Each of those stations have a website open for comments. Let's make that a teaching moment in reality.

Several times in the last year I've thought I should get a twitter account just so I can get my thoughts to companies, news channels, etc. since that seems the only thing they pay attention to anymore.

I found a story on kfor but couldn't find a way to comment.
Couldn't find a place to comment on koco.
Channel 9 required a facebook login which I don't have
okcfox didn't have a place for comments, but the story made the most sense of any I've seen, a response to people saying they don't feel safe to go to the mall now (Penn Square hasn't been safe for a long time..........oh, yeah, I forgot it has signs)

OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — Oklahoma City Police say they do not believe there is now an elevated threat at Penn Square Mall now that they have arrested suspect Elizha Sanders.

However, after the tension Thursday night in the hours after the shooting some Oklahoman's tell Fox 25 in a poll, that they are feeling unsafe in large shopping areas around Oklahoma City. Security experts say this is a common reaction after a violent act.
"There is often a lot of tension after a shooting or any kind of violent incident . It is really important-- police can respond, but security is an important aspect," says Paul Nightingale, Elite Protection Security Supervisor.

Security experts and police say that it is important to be aware of your surroundings anytime you are out in public, but it is also important to have a plan.

"Run, hide, fight , and that is pretty good scenario in any life threatening situation if you really don't know what to do," says Nightingale.

That basically means that if you have the chance, you should run away. The next best option is to hide, ideally with something between you and the danger, and if that is also not an option, then you should be ready to fight.

Hmm, I didn't know it had signs because I haven't been there for over 2 years.

I was thinking about this today.

I guess I should start a thread about it. Apathy
Apathy is where we are today. Instead of speaking up about the idiocy the left has thrown at us, we just sit on our hands and do nothing. In fact it should be more than a thread, it should be a movement. With your permission dlbleak I will use your quote above.

I'm on Twitter . . . anytime I see someone pushing ignorance I call them out on it. 9 times out of 10 they end up blocking me.

There are days I just let things go and others I can't be quiet. Back when I was on Facebook I tried to do the same thing, but there are some absolute idiots out there who the media plays all of their hyperbole for and these jackwagons eat it up.

I hear the statements that people are getting their news from "social media" and I guess if that is where you hang out all day, you don't get exposed to actual news programming, and no one reads newspapers anymore.

Things have really changed in my 72 years. Most of it is good, but we sure seem to have lost a lot of intellengence.

I was at Penn Square Mall on Saturday, and I wasn't naked. I entered the mall from the 2nd level of the parking garage near the theater. I looked for signs and didn't see them on the outide doors. So, I walked in to then next set of doors, about 15-20 ft., then saw 4 inch round stickers that basically stated "no guns". A similar thing happened at a restaurant out of state where you get inside to the 2nd set of doors before you see any signage. After what happened the other day, I keep asking myself what I would have done had this occurred when I was there. I haven't answered the question yet.
