Norman appears to be going down the SJW rabbit hole at an amazing pace.

https://www.news9.com/story/5ec3fce...ternal-review-of-officers-controversial-email

The May 5 email thread was in reference to face masks and another officer complained about the ill-fitting of the masks. McDonough sent an image from the 2012 film Django Unchained where KKK members were discussing the the ill-fit of their masks. A supervising officer questioned the appropriateness of the email and ended the thread.

Anyone who has seen Django will understand that it was mocking the KKK and that Quentin Tarantino of all directors would never make a movie that somehow glorified them.

And if they are going to imply that this officer was saying the covid masks are the same as KKK hoods... is just wrong and that would make no sense in the first place.

I can't even wrap my head around how this is a newsworthy event, unless it was purposely done by that Karen mayor they have who recently was not vindicated by the Lexington PD officer who had made statements about her a week earlier. (It was determined the officer's statement was protected by that evil concept called "free speech")

You guys living in Norman need to take your damn city back or it's going to become the equivalent of Austin,TX... run by a bunch of idiot progressives and antifa types.

While I dislike the liberal tone Norman has taken, this isn't just with the police department. Its pretty much how it is with most companies now days. Pretty much almost anything you can say off the cuff can be construed as offensive in one way or another. One of the main reasons I have very few coworkers on my social media and none of them are above me.

Yes same here, but the problem with this "anti racism" is that it's a sort of.. meaningless hyper sensitivity combined with the "gotcha culture" we live in where people aren't actually concerned about racism, but more about being the first to identify it and call it out.

“Going to become the equivalent of Austin”?

They already elected the current mayor and tolerated an anti gun police chief prior to that.

I’m pretty sure they’ve been there for awhile....even though registered Republicans appear to outnumber registered Democrats. Seems Republicans either don’t show up or they cross party lines, or a large number of independents swing the vote.

While that is my favorite of the Tarantino flicks, and that scene is hilarious, it's not something I'd email my coworkers and/or boss.

For all we know the officer who did it could be a raging progressive who really liked Django and that was the first thing that came to mind. And yeah that scene was hilarious and pretty much emasculates the KKK.

Agreed. Still, I wouldn't forward something like this to a coworker or boss. In cases of harrassment, it's the victim that determines what is appropriate.
