Got back Sunday evening from my draw hunt and scored. Looks like I’m done for hunting in Oklahoma this year, but I can’t remember having a better season than I had. Arrowing two of my top bucks, getting my son on a good one, and then taking this one has added up to a fast but super eventful 6 weeks. Now it’s on to elk in Wyoming and finishing up with deer in Texas.

We’ve been trying to kill the big 5pt for a couple of years and he just messed up. The 9pt just happened. If I’d had it to do over again I’d let the 9 walk, but I was really happy with him. He was 4.5 and there’s no telling what would happen to him. The 5pt was 5.5.
The freezer is getting full, but I know of a few folks the can use some protein.
