We went through Memphis last night via I-55 workaround. We didn’t have any problems at all. It took us about 25 to 30 minutes. Never got below 70mph. But it was around 9:00pm - 9:15pm last night. I am sure the tone of day will make a huge difference.
I hope it’s this way on the return trip next week.

Just got back from Atlanta. By-passed the I-40 bridge both ways. Went down 49 in Arkansas and crossed at Tunica. Coming back, we did I-20 at Vicksburg. The Highway 49 bridge looked older than the I-55 bridge....

How much time did going through Vicksburg add?

Didn't really time it as we were stopping and looking at things. Didn't 'seem' to be much further --- maybe because I was looking at stuff I hadn't already seen lots of times.

:anyone:

That’s no crack, that’s an outright break! I remember when the I-40 Arkansas River bridge collapsed. I know that was because of a barge hit, but if I remember correctly, the state did a full, ‘across-the-state’ check of the bridges. They rebuilt tons of bridges, not just the major traveled ones, but even dirt road, creek bridges. Maybe the whole country needs to do that.
It would be best to wait until Biden is out of office though, he is in need of the fewest issues possible, it would give him one less thing to screw up. Of course, the Libtards will blame it on Trump anyway.

Yep remember it well, same day as my FIL's funeral and we were all watching footage on TV. Also remember than some nut in some kind of uniform appeared out of nowhere and assumed IC of the S&R.....he had no qualifications whatsoever, just wanted to give it a try and everyone bought into it. A few hours in some officials started discussing that nobody knew him or heard of him and finally figured out his shenanigans lol.
