Worked for uncle Albert G’s quite a bit. Usually the smoker that catches fire overnight when nobody is home.

Maybe some AFCI (arc fault circuit interrupter) circuit breakers ought to be installed in such places. They are quite sensitive. We converted a bedroom into a sewing room that was serviced with an AFCI breaker. I had to replace it with a standard CB in the main breaker box and put in a GFCI outlet in that room. One of the sewing machines has a carbon pile voltage regulator foot pedal to control the speed and it kept popping the AFCI. They do work at the slightest arc.

Local restaurants are already raising money to help them out. Looks like the Jenks location will be a LOT busier.

They said a spark got in above the drop ceiling and spread before anyone realized what was happening and by that point it was too late and it is being said it was a total loss. I believe the fire department got called about 10:30 last night and finally got everything put out around 1:00 a.m..

At least the fire department is only 100 feet away. Though I guess it didn't help much in this case.

All is not lost. There is a BurnCo location in Jenks, just a few miles from the 18th & S. Boston that took the hit (temporary we hope) from the fire.

Do they smoke BBQ at the Jenks location? I always thought they made it all at the Sobo location and brought it over.

That's kind of what I thought. Overnight smoking seems like an accident waiting to happen but I guess that's the way it's done.

They do, when you walk in you'll see all the smokers .

From what I understand they don't smoke overnight, but they do get there at like 3 am.

Maby they quit doing overnight letting the smokers run. I know several that have burned down over the years
