I can’t tell if it’s ego, arrogance or just blissful ignorance when it comes to some mens’ behavior/attitude towards firearms handling and use. After helpful training sessions, classes over the years, I’ve realized several times that I didn’t know what I didn’t know.

Grandson (10 yo) came over, yesterday. He had gotten a new cowboy belt, asked to see how it fit with Single Six holster.

I go to gun room. Lay holster and "his" Single Six on bench. He packs up Six and checks every chamber. Puts it down and gets holster onto his belt. Picks up the Six and checks it again.

We go to the kitchen, to show his Dad. He sat at the table and removes the cylinder.
His Dad says, "you broke it." He laughed, "I was seeing if it needed cleaning. Papa showed me how."

There were no ND at my place.

I saw the dealer being escorted out the back door of the show shortly after the discharge. It was the security folks, and I think a Tulsa PD officer----but he was in handcuffs!!

For all the people who attend or work gun shows the incidence of ND's is tiny. Still it could be zero, if all gun safety rules were followed all the time, by all involved. It's a goal to work to.

I was at a gun show at the OKC fairgrounds years back where a dealer or his son got shot in the leg by a customer who was looking at a handgun. I seemed to remember people saying it was the dealers personal CC gun or something.
