Here, but occasionally There.
well we all know now police were unable to enter the building until the proper person with the proper key showed up, the door was only propped open for the shooter, police in Uvalde apparently were never trained to break down doors or break glass

I think I saw or read a news story stating that the doors were made of steel and open outward. If so, that would make them hard to breach without using some serious explosives.

That said, I also heard that they had to wait for someone to show up with a key, so why don't they have easier access to keys?

Their "SWAT" is trained to breach. They have the tools and the knowledge. They just didn't.

"What if" these shootings are actually being enabled to drive a narrative. Beto pops up and rants on TV made me think this could be another Aurora colorado or Sandy Hook type incident where too many odd things show up in the facts and eyewitness accounts.
"Do I belive this anti gun conspiracy theory?"
Well, I sure would like to know why we have these things when our Dems are in a jam
Because eye witnesses aren't reliable, never have been, never will be... Especially during times of stress.

I heard the reasoning, was it a hostage situation or an active shooter.

Small town PD probably had little to no training on active shooter scenarios.

It would have absolutely killed me to stand by while hearing gunshots inside.

My heart hurts still.
Uvalde PD has a SWAT team. They posted this a ways back on their fakebook account which BTW, they are getting roasted over so bad that they shut down comments.

S.W.A.T.-Special Weapons And Tactics, we all know what SWAT does. They could have mitigated the threat but they still did nothing.

I‘ve already read that the Uvalde community as a whole is up in arms about what happened, and I got a feeling that there’s going to be some hard questions asked. I’m not sure who the fall guy is going to be, but I‘m betting somebody or somebody’s is losing their job.
As if losing a job is even remotely adequate in this situation. :(

Latest I’ve hears today is that they had a key from a janitor within minutes.

Regardless, the school police chief should’ve had a grand master on his keyring. If he didn’t, that’s just one more sign of his incompetence. BTW, he’s been in hiding and hasn’t made any statements since the truth started coming out.

What was reported today is that the door was a heavy steel door that opened outward with a lock on it. LEO did not have the equipment on hand to breach the door until a TX game warden showed up with a crow bar and hammer. The custodian showed up with a key at the same time.
This is the current story of why they couldn’t breach the door.
Personally, I would think from a security standpoint that the local Leo and sheriffs dept should have been issued a master key?
