Where are they getting these people, leadership or virtual signaling? We need a big tax on EV to up our electric distribution system which it’s design is obsolete IMO.

And the electric grid is powered by 95% coal. So much for their green. The power grid would collapse if the Democrats had their way.

Where are you getting those numbers? The last numbers I saw only had about 80-85% being powered by fossil fuels, with natural gas making up the bulk of that.

It’s an emissions issue. You have 1,000,000 cars with varying emissions equipment quality and no way to control it aside from state inspections. Or 5 power plants with easily monitored emissions and can be improved upon continuously to a point.

If you live in Oklahoma, Southwest Power Pool has “Generation Mix” pie chart. Right now the mix is predominately coal, but sometimes the mix is predominately wind. Hit the “See More” button to enlarge the chart.

It's nonsense, but the answer is NEVER A BIG TAX. This is a free market economy. Giving more money to the government is just shooting yourself in the foot to spite your eye.

The real solution would be to end subsidies to the EV groups - stop giving them your tax money. Then let the free market decide. If they sell more than gas vehicles without the current incentivized prices ($60,000 vehicle for $35,000) then we'll raise taxes to cover more infrastructure upgrades (pass another Democrat trillion dollar infrastructure bill?) or raise the prices of electricity per kwh.

Let's not punish average taxpayers that we're already punishing by giving free money to virtue signaling EV buyers.

Do we also need a big tax on new homes to pay for electric distribution to them? New factories? I also don't think it is news that EV get recharged using power from the grid and that the grid was out of date before EV...see Texas grid failures just from the cold. The grid needs upgrade and expansion regardless.

Nice site. Thanks. I wish I could find an option to select a time period to get an average. At this moment, 23.9% wind...and I thought from my reading here that windmills were only built to kill innocent little birds.
