I would hate to go to an A's game in Vegas. It's supposed to be climate controlled with a retractable roof, but still.... screw that! I lived in the desert and played baseball in 110 heat. Ain't no way I'd pay for it, LOL.
Yeah, doesn’t sound like fun. A/C and indoors isn’t really baseball, and 110° and direct sun is miserable baseball.

I'm not interested in increasing taxes on everyone in OKC when Thunder tickets are expensive an unapproachable. Downtown has changed a ton in the last decade: Scissortail park and the whole downtown rejuvenation has been great for the economy and OKC has grown from the 34nd to the 20th largest city in the US... but frankly this state does not deserve anything.

Just the facts ma'am, just the facts.

Thunder. "Bennett is the chairman of the Oklahoma City-based Professional Basketball Club LLC (PBC), which owns the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder. Formerly known as the Seattle SuperSonics, the team was purchased from Howard Schultz in 2006 for approximately $350 million with Bennett promising a good-faith effort to keep the team in Seattle, provided there would be a public commitment to a new arena. After failing to get $500 million in public funding from local taxes to build a new suburban arena for the team, Bennett notified the NBA on November 2, 2007, of the ownership group's intent to move the team to Oklahoma City. On March 21, 2008, Bennett made known his plan to relocate the basketball franchise. The NBA commissioner David Stern was supportive of the move to send a message to all cities that if you do not subsidize the NBA then you could lose your team like Seattle. On April 18, 2008, NBA owners gave approval for moving the franchise from Seattle for the 2008–2009 season pending the outcome of the city's case to uphold the lease and the former ownership group's lawsuit to rescind the purchase. On July 2, 2008, Bennett's ownership group reached a settlement agreement in the lawsuit filed by the city of Seattle, thus allowing the franchise to move from Seattle to Oklahoma City." The moral of the story is, Bennett relocated the team before, he will relocate the team again if he does not get a new arena. I am not for nor I am against the sales tax for the new arena. I am only posting the facts.

From another source.

The vast majority of the OKC population has no intent of visiting the arena new or not. Only a select few do visit regularily. We don't need any further unnecessary taxation and in my opinion, Mayor Holt is simply want to leave a legacy when he departs as every other mayor has done.
Take the money and establish a trade school for those who are unable or don't have a job to ensure that they are job-functional. That would pay dividends for evveryone, taxes paid, lower crime, induce others to come to Oklahoma city, safer neighborhoods-you name it.

The Paycom center is the smallest of the NBA arenas, and is smaller than most of the sites that big name talent and special type performances require. OKC has lost many events to the BOK in Tulsa. OKC is growing and with the Riversports area, the First American Museum, and the tribal resort center under construction, we will have a much better opportunity to bring more events, more conventions, and more tourism.
Don't know where you get your information because Paycom is in the middle of NBA arena sizes. That said, I hate basketball so I will be a no vote.

Hasn't crime increased in OKC since they brought the Basketball here? Based on the news it apears as if it is true but they always report the worst. But on the other hand, they have had an awful lot of shootings around that area in recent years. Gotta be a reason, where ya gonna go on a Saturday night if you want to be shot?

If you’re going to a Thunder game, you can’t even bring a sharp spoon with you. It’s a huge target-rich environment if you’re a criminal.

The group who bought the Sonics is from OKC. Don’t you think they wanted to bring the team here and used the arena in Seattle as an excuse? I doubt they’ll move the team. Sell it, maybe. But they won’t move it.
