Tibbs is term limited to 2012 I do believe. I sent an email recently to every member of the Committee and my Rep. I received two replies: Jason Murphey and Mike Ritze. I addressed the letter to Co-Chair Steve Martin and carbon copied the others.
Has anyone considered a Town Hall-style meeting to which all members of the Public Safety Committee, the OK Rep Party, Randy Brogdon, Mary Fallin, the media and the rest of the House are invited (among others I can't immediately think to name)? It could go a long way in embarrassing anyone elected who says he's for it and who doesn't bother to show up. I would just like to get Tibbs and Martin under the lamp to answer for why this thing doesn't have wheels yet. Tibbs, especially, given the responses she has given to others who've posted here. I'd like to give her the opportunity to explain the fruits of her 'research'.

I'm new to the forum and semi new to Oklahoma. I'm all for OC as I moved from the biggest pro-OC state of Virginia. I'm here to help in any way I can to forward the OC cause here in OK.
An armed society is a polite society. This will be an interesting battle. There will need to be regulations. Just like the Supreme Court ruled that yelling fire in a crowded theater is not protected by the First Amendment, carrying a Desert Eagle .50 in your waist band might not be such a good idea either. There would need to be some type of licensing for this to be a good thing. For those of you that argue you dont need a license to practice your First Amendment rights you are mostly correct. You do need a permit to assemble. You also need to register to vote. I do realize that most of the people that post on here want a very strict interpretation of the Second Amendment, and I respect that.
Something I do like to point out is that at all the gun shows in Oklahoma how many violent crimes are committed? I looked and could only fine one negligent/accidental discharge. That is not a bad record for the ammount of people. You do have to remember that not everyone that would open carry would know how to handle the weapon they carry.

Not a good analogy there. Yelling "fire" in a crowded theater endangers the public safety. So tell me, how does carrying a DE .50 openly endanger the public safety?
Where am I required to get a permit to have a peaceful assembly? You are not required by Federal law to be registered to vote. This is a power which is reserved to the States and acted upon thereto. However, North Dakota is the only state that doesn't require registration.
And to expand on Mons Meg's post... its not a good idea to carry a DE .50, unless you have two. You might lose your balance otherwise.

Open carry is a BAD IDEA. 99.9% of citizens carrying have no weapons retention training. No f*cking clue how to stop someone from taking their gun. Open carrying gives zero tactical advantage so why would you carry in the open unless you're just compensating for a small penis?!
Having seen some of the POS holster people carry I wonder how secure their firearm would be. Shciat, some of them the gun is damn near about to fall out let alone having any type of retention device.
