Get the boberg 9mm. It's the smallest 9mm out there and due to the way it's designed, has the longest barrel out of the tiny 9mm's out there. I really want one, but it's a bit pricey.

Caliber: 9mm / 9mm+P
Length: 5.1”
Height: 4.2”
Width: 0.95”
Weight: 18 oz with magazine, unloaded
Barrel Length: 3.35”
Capacity: 7+1
Action: Rotating-Barrel Locked-Breech
Sights: Low Profile, Dovetail Windage
Sight Radius: 4.4”
Trigger Pull: 5.5 lb DAO
Safeties: 2 (DAO & Passive Firing Pin)

Frame: 7075-T6 Aluminum Alloy
Slide: High-Strength, High-Toughness Stainless Steel
Springs: Zinc-plated Music Wire
Grips: High-Toughness Zytel (tm) Polymer
Pins: High-Strength, High Toughness Stainless Steel
Internal Parts: High-Strength Stainless Steel
Magazine: High-Strength Stainless Steel, Laser-Welded Construction

Here are some videos of the weapon.

you mentioned going bact to your steel roots, and i saw you mentioned an emp, i would highly reccomend one in 9mm, the 40's have a few minor issues, but most are easily fixed. i dont know the width of my emp but it is the same width if not thinner that a standard 1911, i am pretty sure springfield has the specs on all of their pistols on their website, for me personally it is easier to conceal than say my g29, the thinner hammer area seems to make a big differance in concealability to me, i live close to happy hollow if you would like to shoot the emp pm me.

Added all recommended guns to my list (elcabob, Ive never taken issue with rugers. the sr9c has been added as well).

Trying to put together a spreadsheet so I can weigh pros/cons. Then the next step is to handle the ones I havent already shot.

Yeah, I started out as a steel elitist. I swore I would never own a poly gun. Several HKs and some Glocks later, and now I am ready to get back (although, I am not counting out polys). SA doesnt list width, all they list is length, height, weight, capacity, etc..

Ill put the calipers on my full size and just use that.

The S&W9c get's my vote. I love mine, it's what I bought for my first carry gun. None of the others fit my hand as well and I'm a die hard XD fan, but the XD subcompact is just to wide for my taste.

I'd been looking for a new CCW also and narrowed it down to a Kahr or PPS.
When I tried them in my IWB holster I found the CW series butt slightly printed, the P and PM fit good but didn't feel as good in my hand and were too pricey at H&H (OAS said they sold them as soon as they hit the door). The PPS felt good and didn't print at all, even with a semi tight t-shirt. They also have a special going on right now to send away for a free mag. Anyway this is what I picked up. I really like the trigger on this, almost like a 2 stage. I've only put 2 mags through it and the recoil was alot less than my wifes .380 PPK/s or a 9x18 Makarov, very controllable.
You might want to call Outdoor America if you interested in a 9MM, I got the last one they had Friday.

I carry a glock 26 the butt doesnt print. I picked up a ruger sr9c today and have carried in the house to get a feel for it. So far i like how it carries. The biggest thing is to get a good holster. Ive been through alot of them and keep going back to a don hume iwb h715m it sits lowin your waist band. Goodluck in your hunt

I'm carrying an EMP 9 in a VM2 right now. Just got the VM2 for it last week, this is one of best carry platforms I've ever owned. I have a Kahr PM9 but I've yet to pick up a good holster for it.

I thought for sure you would point out my hypocracy in considering the eclipse ultra II,... considering my previous statements about Kimber.
