I will say to stay away from Wolverine boots. I bought a pair, most uncomfortable boots I've ever had. By the time I got a pair just long enough to fit my feet, they were WAY too tall and provided no support anywhere else, so my foot was constantly sliding back and forth. If I had to wear steel toes, I'd probably start trying steel toe versions of the Ariats I usually wear. I have literally put miles and miles on many pairs of Ariat Ramblers, they are my absolute favorite.

I will recommend the Red Wings store in OKC as well. The last time I had to buy steel toe boots they used the digital foot measurements for me to help pick out what boots would be best, and get me set up with custom insoles, as I have very flat feet. I ended up with the Worx brand by Red Wing, and I love them! When I wore them daily I was working 12 hour shift on the drilling rigs.

ETA: This is the pair I got. I prefer slip on boots mostly, and I wanted to ensure I had the best boots to hold up to oil based mud. http://www.redwingsafety.com/safety...filter-m,oil-gas-resistance-outsole-best,worx

Red Wing store in OKC.

Red Wing Irish Setters with the extra foot beds. So comfy. I've worn boots for 20+ years. Never worn Red Wing, but that's where my company has discounts and pays $150, so that's where I went. Love them. Would be hard to get me to go back to anything else. Been in my same pair for 2 years now and still look good.

I'll add another voice in favor of Red Wing. I've never bought work boots there, but I've had a pair of their hiking boots (sold under their Vasque brand) for better than twenty years; they've carried me several hundred miles, including a 100+ mile, ten-day trip in the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Best boots I ever had, and I wouldn't trade them for anything.

Red Wings work boots are great and will last a long time. But make sure you buy the made in USA Red Wings. Some of their "non work comfort shoes" are made outside the states..
