Thinking about ordering the .224 Valkyrie from Bear Creek

If I don't get any sleep tonight, I'll probably order the .224 Val complete upper from BC to go with my Colt 6920 AR 556/223, and BC 6.5 Grendel.
Nice to have one carry case with 3 cals to shoot at the range. Plus they look really cool.

Oh Lord, I don't need another caliber to reload but the Valkyrie sure looks interesting.

I think so too and, the Grendel was such a good deal and well built, thought I'd just for full Monty. It's a 1:7 twist and probably get the 24" barrel as well (thought about the 22" but hell).
Matching fluted SS heavy barrels will just look great in a carry case. Now I'm going to start dropping some hard cash on better glass. Be good to have matching optics as well. Going with Mil dot rather than MOA turrets and perhaps single focal plane.

I have been shooting a 22 Nosler for four years now. I had an barrel chambered before they had it named. It’s a kickass 22 cal round. The vall is a good round out of my 18” at barrel my Nosler gets 3865 with 77 gn Sierra match kings that are deadly on yotes. That’s 22-250 velocities. Requires 6.8 spec mags and your gtg. Keep us posted on the new upper !

Any suggestions between the 22 vs 24" barrels? These are bench guns and the Val has about the same recoil as the 556 (almost nothing). I just thought the longer barrel would give it legs enough to get out to a thousand

Yep and don't cost a fortune. I'll shoot a bunch and then keep the brass to reload.
