Holy schit! Thats where I went to Highschool in 84
I usually worked night shift at Putnam City West or Putnam City High (original). That $481 a month didn't go very far even back then.

Night shift? Janitorial work or what?I usually worked night shift at Putnam City West or Putnam City High (original). That $481 a month didn't go very far even back then.
Exactly. There was no social media to tell us how bad we had it...Never knew I was broke. Everyone around me was broke too.
Ha! Yer lucky ya survived...You guys are making my feel old. 72 I was in the service doing my duty for the country.
OK I was station in Hawaii on a Coast Guard airbase and when not on duty could go into town, to the beach, etc. It was rough duty but someone had to do it.
When I was in the Army in 1967, I was TDY to a small base west of Washington, D.C. After the training was over and we were waiting for visas and passports for overseas, I spent a good bit of time in D.C., exploring the sights and museums. When in D.C., by go to place was MacDonald's, primarily because of their 19-cent hamburgers, which is what I could best afford. Ever since then, MacDonald's is not my favorite place to go. I did stop in there once for breakfast when we were in Colorado a few years back, and breakfast was not that great either.
Man, $1.05 for a cheeseburger, fries, and a shake. Now that costs us $15, and it was better back then. Burger wasn't processed like we do today, fries were probably fresh cut, and real ice cream shakes instead of this powdered nonsense we get today. Same quality of food today would probably cost us $20 for the meal.
Night shift? Janitorial work or what?
