The entire article steams like a pile o' poo on a winter morning. Lousy conclusions and inferences, then the last comments about gun ownership numbers dropping.

Some of the authors who write these stories are indeed stupid people. Some actually believe what they are saying. Others are intelligent propaganda artists who are writing these stories to influence ignorant people. Either way, the results are the same.
I'd like to see the requirements for the new pistol.

If you look up the "experts" who are being quoted in the article and dig into their background, you'll find a group of "hired gun" paid anti-2A writers who do "research" to support their intentional bias and preconceived ideas, and then endlessly quote each other.
The Johns Hopkins group provides an endless stream of "authoritative sounding BS."
The "Fiscal Times" publishes anti 2A articles routinely.
John Lott has addressed the bogus "research" and junk science of these writers.

This was an interesting and fun read. Although I don't think the 43% rise in multiple gun shot wounds can be attributed to the Beretta M9.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation anticipates the release of a solicitation during FY2015/Q1; distributed solely through the General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) Website (www.fedbizopps.gov). This notice does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) and should not be construed to as a commitment of any kind by the Government to issue a formal solicitation or ultimately award a contract. The LSM
it is simply a pre-RFP (request for proposal) these are out there for potential bidders. The bidders read the Pre-RFP and then ask questions. Once all the questions are out the questions and answers are posted. In addition specific clarification is added in the final RFP. Or is there some other question you were wondering about?
