So I've been shopping around for credit card processing options for the FFL business, and I thought I'd see what my bank (BancFirst) had to offer. The rep I spoke to asked me what kind of business I had, and when I told her firearm and firearm accessory sales, she tells me that is on their exclusion list. They will not handle my credit card processing because I sell guns. I didn't have time to make much of an issue about it at the time, but I did question it. She gave me some BS about how there is too much potential for fraud with gun and ammunition sales. Really? In the most regulated industry in the nation? This makes no sense to me whatsoever.

Funny, they weren't against me having my money there for them to use, they just won't help me process credit cards! I would move my accounts somewhere else, but I'm pretty well established there now, and I'm beginning to think most banks will probably behave the same way. I hate banks, but the credit union I do my personal banking with no longer does commercial accounts of any kind. Just venting a little, and passing on that information for those of you who are using or considering BancFirst as your bank.

So I'll keep looking at the 3rd party processing solutions, or maybe stick with cash only. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations on credit card processors that are sensible and have reasonable fees?

BancFirst Claremore and Tulsa does not seem to have signs on the doors. Interesting they will not handle accounts. Also interesting they approve the benefits of armed customers, but do not want to assist them purchasing firearms.

I've been super happy with the checking accounts, and my personal banker has been great! But they just won't do credit cards for me.
