Thought I’d give ya’ll an update. Called Bob Moore and was disconnected while transferring me to the service dept so I’m thinking “here we go again”. As you can imagine I’m more than skeptical at this point of any Subaru dealer. Got ahold of another gal who said “you know they’re all busy right now let me have someone call you right back when they’re available”. You know what I’m thinking right? FYI I still haven’t received a callback from anyone with Cavender and it’s been over a week. As far as I’m concerned those people are scumbags and don’t give a crap about their customers but enough of that.
Surprise surprise about 15 minutes after hanging up with Bob Moore I received a callback and have an appointment set for August 7th AND they’re giving me a loaner as they’ll have the car for a few days. Thank you @Snattlerake and all who suggested using Bob Moore. I’ll be sure to report back with a report once this is all in my rear view mirror. 👍🏻

My beef with Ferguson is that they try to sell the unsuspecting car owner service that is not needed. Where the manual says "inspect" they want to "replace" and usually at intervals well below the manual recommendation; especially with engine, cabin air filters and differential oils. :pissed:
They try to do the same thing on the GMC side of the dealership.

Yup, took my wifes Volvo in for 70k service. No where in the description did it say anything about wiper blades, or cabin filters, so I did it myself. Color me surprised when I looked at the receipt and saw on page 1 they inspected, and page 2 charged me for the replacement of the wipers. The day before service I had put brand new volvo blades on the thing. They told me it was just their practice and part of the deal, even though there was an individual charge for the wipers outside of the 70k service package price.

Update: dropped my Outback off at Bob Moore today. Nice group of guys and they even provided me with a brand new Ascent as a loaner. Should hear something back my Thursday, they have to let it sit a while as part of the diagnosis. I really don’t mind how long they have it as long as I have something to drive.

I suspect IF someone hasn't already said it. Unless you or they get lucky, you will end up taking it to an auto electrical specialist. I know one in Edmond. IF I ever did life again and ended up an auto mechanic. It would be in electrical.

I have a plug-in hybrid and I run it mostly on battery so the oil is perfectly clean and if the ICE isn't running but very, very little, and the dealer tells me I need to change my air filter. I always change mine to include the cabin filter but I think they go by miles. I think they want around $80 to change both but I can do it for less than $20.

Cavender bought Reynolds in Norman and changed the name to Comfort. I was not impressed at all with the way they treated my mother, which was basically 180 degrees out from how Reynolds treated her (I guess I shouldn't be surprised, considering they ran off everybody that made Reynolds a great dealership). For years I did all my car business at Reynolds, but Comfort won't see a cent of my money.

I took my Land Rover Discovery in for warranty work years ago. They gave me a new Discovery for a loaner for the few hours I needed it. I sure they do that in the hopes you will be impressed and buy a new one.

DUH!

We bought a new Subaru in 2018 and every month after a year of ownership we get this little postcard from Bob Moore to "trade up". We just paid the thing off by doubling the payments. You think we want a new monthly payment?

I don't understand why they don't all do that, when they can. Seems like a decent marketing idea, but fairly rare. Usually you have to fight for something to drive, depending on the dealer and brand.

Got a call from Moore and I figured it wouldn’t be good……well at least cheap. 😉 There is a current draw and it’s a gizmo called the DCM which controls the Starlink system. Asked if they could just pull the fuse as I don’t use that system. Told me sure but there’s more to it as that fuse also controls the cruise control so that wouldn’t work and I’d have a check engine light on all the time. So! $1,100 dollars later I’ll be in business. Oh, and the part is on back order which could be anywhere from 2-6 weeks before I get my car back. They did say I can keep the loaner and if I’d like to exchange it for a different car that’s okay too. This is a painful one but they couldn’t be treating me any better. So far Bob Moore is A Okay. 👍🏻
The sucky thing is it’s ready for its 60K service which is a biggie and will set me back another $1,300. Yikes! Thinking I’ll just bite the bullet and get it all done. That car should be set for another 50,000 miles after that which will be maybe 6-7 years.
