Yea I get that and it was black dark. That is a cool picture.

Nighttime viewing in my yard of planets with my unloaded rifle through my super clear scope will continue.

It’s most likely a meteor or two, or possibly some space debris burning up on reentry. A comet wouldn’t have come and gone like that, as they’re actually in orbit around the sun and generally have long orbital periods—once they’re visible from Earth, they tend to stay visible for days or weeks.

Whatever it was, it was a pretty cool thing to see, I bet.
