Do you prewash before putting things in the dishwasher?

Our dishwasher has a built in disposal, and drains into the sink disposal for any secondary grinding.
Put the bones in the trash, and chunk the dishes into the dishwasher. I didn't pay all that money to wash them before putting them in a dishwasher. :D

I was eating a piece of pie when I first opened this thread and "sludge" and "chunks" had me scrambling for the minimize button. I'm not cut out for this chunky world.

I am not a germaphobe by any means, but I am a clean person. I have some relatives that I have went to get a clean glass out of the dishwasher and there is enough food in the bottom to feed my labrador for a week. That is disgusting. To me that is the equivilant of using the same bath water all week. Just add a little more soap and top off the hot water and your good to go. No thanks. I will take 2 minutes to rinse the food off before loading.
