I bought a bunch of big candles at the local Walls Bargain center last year. About the same size as those. I believe they were 2 for a $1.

Get points with your wife, go to hobby lobby candle section and get some scented oils for candle making. BOOM, scented emergency candles.

edited to add: that should be the candle making section <-- not just the candle section.

If you read the end of the instructions, the woman said she used some essence oils to scent some of the candles she made, but cautions that too much scent can give you a headache after a while. So she said use oils for occasional use candles, but none for emergency candles.

If you have anyone with any breathing, or sinus problems, bypass the fragrances.
After several hours, even small scents will cause major problems.

Didn't go to the CTD link, they are still on my never again list, but do some research before you start melting wax for candle making, a double boiler is a must to keep from having a flash fire above the wax pot.. Stay safe and don't burn yourself or your house down prepping...
