so you do not think teachers should be paid fairly? what is your explanation for the teacher shortage in Oklahoma?
No one is indentured or enslaved to being a public school teacher. The salary information is public. If you are not satisfied with that then maybe you should consider a job selling shoes at Dillard's. This whole teacher salary crisis is a manufactured load of horse dung just like global warming.

They list the starting salary in advance. If it's not enough they shouldn't take the job. It is really that simple. Or should we explore "fair pay" for every single job in America?

do not try to shift a real conversation into something else. do you think the shortage may have something to do with the starting pay?

AFT is fairly organized . They have a seat at the bargaining table but don't have the right to strike, nor does any other 'association' in the state. Unfortunately , teachers don't have a big voice in the state. Whatever the OEA deems is the best path is what they are left with.

because we are a no strike state there is not any real collective bargaining, which I agree with. I am a member of POE, not OEA, for the lawyer.

From your links. All for the 2015-2016 year.

Almost $50 million in land
$488.1 Million in buildings and construction
$570.6 million in debt service
:faint:

That's quite revealing. At least you teachers are teaching and kids are learning in marble pillared palaces with gold fixturing that would make Saddam Hussein blush in his grave. Something is way bad wrong....
