Do you lap your scope rings?

I use Larue's so no lapping needed. Excellent AR style mounts. Seekins rings and rails for my bolt guns

I use Warne rings and mounts, which say no lapping needed, but I still lap them.

No lapping with good rings but I bed my bases so they do not distort when torqued due to contour mismatch. My Warne steel base had about 0.015" gap at the back with just the front snugged on my Rem 700.
