I've got many hours up and down the Kiamichi with the dogs and a couple of those.

I’m looking for a small but really powerful flashlight that shoots a beam quite a ways out, I don’t mind paying for quality but just don’t know what all is out there and worth the money ? I know there is a wealth of knowledge on here and need your input ?! Thanks !!

Thanks to everyone for their input, I’ll be researching all that was recommended to me ! I didn’t specify hand held or weapon mounted but I need a hand held. I’ll post what I get !

Streamlight Protac 1L-1AA is a pretty good light. I like being able to use AA or CR123's with it, and its a handy size. Made in china though.

I have one of these. Got it at the PX. It’s a lot like the old Surefire 6Ps and works well for what I need. Run time is a little better but if your heavy on using it, either have a lot of batteries or look for a rechargeable solution.

Here ya go. No batteries required although I don’t think I’d use it to find a gas leak.
