Actually, that may not be so absurd. They have been under wind power for years, and I'd guess that they have discovered that it isn't enough to generate enough power, so they want to go with coal.

However, it will take some time to get a coal fired generation plant up and running, unless they already have one.
Hell, 85 years ago they could get things done seemingly overnight. Nobody wants to work like that anymore.

The irony of this is that I have a friend working in Germany right now building a wind farm. He posted a picture on FB and hour ago. :anyone:

The really surprising thing thing is they actually are doing that.

The only thing more important to a politician than their ideology, is their political power. They must REALLY be scared about their energy situation.

With Russia screwing them over when it comes to natural gas sales, the German politicians have a right to be scared about the energy situation. Quoted from one article about this " . . . energy security has sometimes taken precedence over clean energy. "

Which proves the point. "Environmentalism is only a luxury, not a necessity."

Who gets to decide who pays for the luxury of Environmentalism? Keep that in mind next time you vote.

I guess they are smarter than the leaders we have running our country. They haven't figure out that solar and wind energy won't generate enough energy for our country either.
