Faith Electric has our contract and installed a 15K whole house unit for us. It has electrified our home a few times for over 8 hours once during a blizzard and twice during a summer storm that knocked out power for 2 days during the steamy July and August months. It has been a good investment.

I have a request for a bid into them. They did a good job for ya?? I've been talking about getting a Generac for WAY too long. I figure I'm not getting any younger.

Buy one at Sam's or Costco; you need an electrician and a plumber to hook it up.

Can these things also run on natural gas?

I used to sell their bigger commercial generators and we used the term "GenerJunk" but I'm sure their home units are good enough for their intended use. Just make sure to exercise them once a month and transfer the load.

Any recommendations on a different brand?

Faith Electric put ours in, gotta say those guys did a good job. No gripes or complaints, very easy to deal with.

I have a champion power equipment portable generator and an interlock switch where it will run my whole house. My generator is 11,500 starting watts and 9,200 running watts. Cost me $1300 total. It would be nice to not have to go out and turn it on but it sure is great having it. It was also great not having to drop thousands on it.
