+1 on the Lee FCD. it makes sure everything fits in tighter 1911 chambers. I put one on the 4th station of by RL550 press and haven't looked back. I tumble my brass in walnut media to get the crap off, then put a light spray of case lube in a bucket of brass prior to loading. It makes the sizing a little easier when I go through 2k in a long session.

Loads-5.1-5.3 Gr Win 231 under 200gr LSWCs. Store in zip lock freezer bags.

I use 230 fmj over 6.1 grains of Universal Clays. I am just now to the point where I am going to have to trim the brass. I also hope to find some more powder. I hate changing recipes.

HUH?
I've been using the same brass since Moses parted the waters, and it never stretches. Gave up measuring it years ago, and since it headspaces off the rim, and I'm not having failures, I'm thinking its good to go still.

I have some that is way long. Thought it was odd, too.

And if your barrel is 4" or longer in the 45 you can hunt deer with it ..

I shoot my 45 acp outside here in Okalhoma ..i have used tight group and HP38 and bullseye and some i have built with AA#5
I have never noticed any smoke from my gun.
All my 45 sees is a lee 200gr swc with alox lube or a 50/50 alox johnson wax lube..

You guys with smoke must shoot indoors.

Yes 45 is cheap to build.. especially if you cast your own lead bullets..
I have a 6 cavity mold for the 45 bullets...50 loaded rounds costs me about $3.50 to build using Bullseye powder.

I got to shoot a Kimber yesterday...nice gun.
Shot excellent groups with winchester white box crap.
Sure recoiled much more than my heavy hipoint. :)
