Have you ever painted right over blue? Will it work??

Just wondering if any of you have painted over blue? I've got a Remington 700 action that is blued and will have a stainless barrel. I'd like to be able to just paint over the blue and get it off if I ever need to and not have it bead blasted. Worried about rust on the action...

What do you think? Have you done it? I'm thinking the durabake, or something like that from brownells.

I guess a little oil goes a long ways on blue anyways huh...

It won't last long over a brushed or polished blue. At the absolute least, rub the action down with 100 grit wet/dry paper first.
