Scotty Kilmer is a great YouTube personality. Watch his channel quite a bit. He is usually pretty hip on Honda and Toyota, does not like "domestic" cars and trucks. He has changed his opinions on them back and forth.

Getting ready to hit 300,000 miles on my Chevy Silverado.
Its simple, the more computer controlled you make a vehicle, the more chance for software and hardware issues will cause problems. It seems very few manufactures are willing to put there stuff through enough tests to work out the bugs.
I have personally had multiple Toyotas over 200K miles, 2 different 4 runners and a Taco.…. I think its fair to say the Toyota makes the most reliable vehicle over the last half century.
My 2016 4Runner is right around 237,000 miles. Only non maintenance related thing I’ve done is replaced the fan clutch a couple years ago. Been very reliable.
1982 Ford Mustang with 200" inline 6.
Nothing replaced except fluids and filters and brakes and tires for 300,000 miles.
Then starter went out.
I delivered Pizzq in that car and hauled lumber in it and a boat my 1975 bayliner was towed with it
many times.
Car body fell apart around the engine, trans and rearend.
376,000 miles it was parted out.
Drivetrain was just fine and still got 27MPG with NO overdrive and a carburetor.
You tell me the cars are better and I call BS.
Straight 6 Ford Or Datsun straight 6 for the win in reliability.
I will give much credit to my 1995 Toyota corolla as the interior and car has worn better than that Mustang and now has 362,000 miles on it.
The things I haul and the places i drive that 300,000 plus miles to me is impressive.
I feel most vehicles should go 300,000 miles easy if well maintained.

My Accord has 633,000 on it.
I can't watch Scotty Kilmer videos. Too many real mechanic videos out there to deal with his crap.
Bottom line, they are all junk and they will all have problems, no matter the brand or make. As Swampratt mentioned, if you take care of them, they will break less.

I was told my 2000 Blazer wouldn’t outlast the loan payments….that was over 22 years and 215,000 mi ago. I believe if you take modest care if it, (nearly) any car will last. The real problem with a car is the driver and/or the cell phone. All those new miracle mandated safety systems just get inattentive drivers in trouble.
