It has a ported barrel with cutouts on top of the slide to aid in the muzzle flip.
I had never heard of one until some guy let me shoot his a few weeks ago. I was very impressed. It is a nine that has a muzzle flip that is equal or less than a 22. I was very impressed.

Not to spread rumors or anything, but I have heard of a few cases on ported XD9's where the area on the slide between the ports had some cracking. Just something to read about.
I have an xd9 that I have shot 5,000+ rds though and the only problem I have ever had was a roll pin that drives down through the top of the gun broke once, but it broke when I was taking the gun apart to clean it. I bought a package of them after oleyeller sent me one for free and saw another xd in .40 break the same pin at a class I was taking from TDSA in Tulsa...so I passed along the goodness from oleyeller and gave the guy one to get him back in action. That is the only issue I have had or seen with them. Mine still runs like a sewing machine.
Have the XD9 SC. Crossbreed works best for me. 1000+ rounds without a single issue. Love it more and more each trip to the range.

crossbreed supertuck I promise if this had been my first holster it would be my only one.super comfortable and makes my xd completely disappear
