How much ammo do you shoot a month?

I was talking to my wife’s uncle this past weekend and the question came up. He doesn’t shoot much anymore. None to maybe s box.

I probably go through close to 5 or 6 hundred on a normal month and have shot maybe 1500 to 2000 rounds in a month.

Do any of you shoot your guns much?

I shoot 4-500 rounds of 22 and 300 rounds of 9mm most every month.

Varies based on weather of course, I shoot more .45 ACP than anything, rough guess around 1000-1250 a month (I reload it all), and (400-500) 9mm between Jen and I. The 300 Win Mag gets a decent workout (40-50 rounds) on really windy days just so I can get behind her and develop my routines. AR-15 variants are just shot with the boys and such as they feel like it (300-400) rounds a month. Dead of winter is nil except for the occasional 900 Bullseye match. Winter is dry fire with the .45s and ARs... All just guesstimates of course.

There was a time when I burned up several cases of ammo a month. But then I was shooting competition somewhere every weekend, weather be damned, and practicing 3-5 nights a week.

Now I'm a little banged up. Several surgeries and some recurring medical issues have definitely made me a fair-weather shooter. I did quite a bit of shooting earlier this year. Seems I've slowed back down some. Probably pick back up again if it EVER stops raining. Sheesh ...

I used to shoot a whole lot more than I have recently. Since my wife retired, she thinks travel is more important than my drills in the shop and trips to the range. Used to be over 1K pistol rounds per month at matches, plus half that much at practice.

2000-3000 rounds 9mm per month. 1000 rounds 45 acp 150-200 rounds 5.56 100 rounds 300 whisper 50 rounds 7.62x51 , 30 rounds 7.62x39 half the nine millimeter goes through AR and Cz carbine. Luckily we get to take ammo off as business expense. Have to pay Oklahoma sales tax on it though
