j-dubb is right check around at feed stores. Someone with good dogs could make her want to load in trailer even out in the wide open. It is amazing to watch good dogs work. Good Luck!

Here is the deal. The cows have been abandoned. It only takes a couple of weeks of not having human interdiction in their life to start reverting back into wild animals.
Its not that different than hogs.
A friends dad bought 6 breeding pairs, and got sick a year later. Those six turned into 30 something in a few years.
They were as wary as whitetail deer. Seeing a human, they would bolt for cover.
We tried catch pens for weeks, and everything else with no results.
Finally hired some REAL COWBOYS that work on Osage county ranches and work cattle for a living.
It took three weeks to round up most of the cows, roping them. They finally gave up on the remaining four.

Its unfortunate to have to say this but shooting them is probably the easiest, quickest, cheapest solution.

Pm me for more information. BTW, I don't need the meat in case anybody is wondering.

Here is my question- why won't a butcher cut a dead cow? They do it with everything else. They are not selling the meat to the public, they would be butchering it for you. If you drop off a deer or a turkey, you should be able to drop off a cow. I would just call them ahead of time and let them know what you want to do.

This is among the possibilities, but if you've never field dressed anything as big as a cow, that's gonna be more than a little problematic especially in this heat.

Dennis they are definitely a pain in the rear, I wouldn't mind putting them down myself either. Lol

There is quite a bit of interest for the cows, more than i expected that's for sure. I just learned that I have until the weekend before my grandpa is going to get them "dispatched" one way or another, hopefully an OSAer can get a good deal before then.

For the folks who called dibs in this thread, PMs, and phone calls all has been duly noted by the time stamp of first contact.
