How did it happen? They kept adding pork to the bill until they bought enough votes to get it passed (I'm looking at you, you treacherous SOB, Dave McCurdy).

What I remember about the '90's was that Clinton enacted new taxes, signed the ban bill, and tried to do a universal health care plan.

He was elected in 1992 and had a congressional majority. He also ended up with a Republican congress in 1994. Much of the so-called "credit" that he got for good economics numbers was because he had a Republican congress for six years of his presidency.

AWB had a Big impact on the good economy. Clinton knew what he was doing by the Ban to bring forth a good economy.
